Ramblings from the mind of Mama. Probably won't be a daily musing but every once in a while it might be interesting. Now go clean your room.

First let me just say I am glad he chose Ohio State over Michigan and Penn State. Is it because I think he is the next great thing? No, not really, the kid has things to prove at the next level. On the chance that he can fulfill or surpass the potential that seemingly everyone has identified I am glad he is on my team. Mostly what I hope for the kid is that he enjoys his time at Ohio State (I probably enjoyed mine a little toooooooooooooooooooo, alright a lot, toooooooooooooooooooooo much.

I hope he enjoys his time in the Dorm (OSU has a rule that all Frosh live in a dorm or with a family member), in the classroom, and on the playing field. I still look back on my time there as 4 of the best years of my life. Welcome to the family Terrelle, we are really glad you are here.

HELP.................My house, my mind , and my life have been taken over by the terrible 2's. Where did my sweet angelic little girl go? Over the last several days she has been replaced by a she devil that has the most piercing scream you have ever heard. She is willful and stubborn. She makes taking her anywhere absolute torture. She won't sit on the potty and throws a fit at absolutely nothing. In short she is 2 and every bit of it.

If both of us make it through this stage it will be a miracle.

Advice, earplugs, Xanax

Do you have a sore throat, runny nose, fever, body aches, a cough that sounds like it comes from your toes, and feel generally like a big steaming pile of........

Guess what, you most likely have the flu and it bites. However unless you are old, very young, or have another chronic health condition and need to be admitted to a hospital there is very little that can be done.

Why the rant? Over the past 3 shifts in the ER we have seen so many people with the flu I have lost count. These folks on average have waited 2 hours to get back to a room only to be told that we can try to treat their symptoms but there is no cure. I have be called every name in the book, I have been told where to go and how to get there, and I have been told just how stupid these folks think I am. Meanwhile, as they sat in the waiting room coughing and blowing their noses they have infected numerous other people who will be back in a couple of days with the complaint of "flu-like symptoms"

Apparently I make quite an impression. A poster that I have had rather nasty interactions in the past and have gone out of my way to avoid for the last several months has made a less than flattering reference to yours truly in a recent post. I find is amusing that someone who will cause me to leave a thread with just his presence, who I have not made a reply post, whom I have not rated and who has not rated me would reference me.

How do you like that tune I'm singing.

I just tried to make an appointment to see a family physician. You would think being in the brotherhood would get me an easier pass in the door...................you would think that........................you would be wrong.

I called 4 physicians to see who was taking new patients (insured patients) finally found one whose office will send me paperwork to return and from there it will take 2 weeks to be seen. It's a good thing there isn't anything horribly wrong or I could be terminal by the time I get in.

Last night in the ER we had a 3 hour wait and it was one of the shortest in the city. There are multiple reasons for that wait but if insured patients are being put off weeks the uninsured, underinsured, and medicaid patients are doomed.

Watching television with Lauren has got me thinking, where have all the cool cartoons of my childhood gone? I remember the Saturday mornings filled with Laff-a-lympics, and Captain Caveman. Now I am surrounded by Max and Ruby and Lazy town. I will admit I do like The Backyardigans.

If you watch very much Go Diego Go you would come to think the Puma is the most dangerous animal in the rainforest. Is it just me or does Dora have a freakishly large head.

I miss Scooby-Doo, even if they did run past the same painting 30-40 times an episode.

Where did all the classic cartoons go?

To my friends - Hello, hope you are all well. For those I've yet to meet, why are you wasting your time reading this? I'm just curious about when do you think this board got so negative and harsh? It used to be worth a good laugh and a fun way to relax. Somewhere during the fall it just started to get nasty, biting and down right mean.

I finally had enough and took a self imposed hiatus. I have been posting some but if the thread takes a negative turn I am out. I have also come to look for certain posters, if they show up I know to just walk away. To that end I'm going to try and keep my Blog positive and fun.

Now, if all of your friends jumped off a cliff would you?
